Privacy Policy

What we collect, what the numerology calculator does with your birth date, where it is stored, and how to erase it.

Last updated

The short version

  • We do not sell your personal information. We never have.
  • The numerology calculator asks for your full birth name and complete date of birth. It has to, that is the arithmetic. Read section 3, it is the important one.
  • Your birth date stays in your own browser unless you choose to email yourself a reading. It is never attached to an order.
  • You can erase it in one click from the calculator page, or by clearing your browser storage.
  • You have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out. Section 12 tells you how to use them.

1. Who this covers

This policy explains how LEGAL ENTITY NAME, e.g. NUMR8LOGY LLC, doing business as NUMR8LOGY, handles personal information collected through this website. It applies to visitors, calculator users, email subscribers, and customers.

Controller of record: LEGAL ENTITY NAME, e.g. NUMR8LOGY LLC, BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS. Privacy contact: mo@numr8logy.com.

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health data, or financial account numbers.

3. The numerology calculator, in detail

This is the section most apparel privacy policies would not need. Ours does, because our calculator asks for two genuinely sensitive things: your full birth name and your complete date of birth, including the year. Together those are a common identity-verification pair, so you deserve a straight answer about what happens to them.

What is collected
The full name given at birth and the complete date of birth (month, day, and year). Both are required by the arithmetic: the name drives the Expression and Soul Urge numbers, the date drives the Life Path number.
What it is used for
One purpose only: computing your numerology reading and showing you the designs that match it. It is not used for advertising, profiling, credit or insurance decisions, age-gating, or any determination about you.
Where the calculation happens
In your browser, on your own device. The reading is computed by JavaScript running locally. Submitting the calculator form does not transmit your name or birth date to our servers.
Where it is stored
In your browser's local storage, under the key numr8logy.numbers.v1, so your reading is still there when you come back. That entry carries an expiry and is automatically deleted after 30 days. Local storage lives on your device, not on our servers.
The one exception
If you explicitly opt in to have your reading emailed to you or to join our list, then your email address and your computed life path number are sent to us and stored with our email provider. Even then, we do not store your date of birth on that list unless you separately and knowingly provide it.
What is never done with it
Your date of birth is never written to an order record. Order data and calculator data are kept in separate systems and are not joined. Your birth date is not sold, rented, shared with advertisers, appended to a marketing profile, or used to identify you across other sites.

Using the calculator is optional. You can browse, shop, and check out without ever entering a birth date. If you would rather not store anything at all, use the calculator in a private browsing window and the entry disappears when you close it.

A note on accuracy, because the law gives you a right to correct: a numerology reading is an interpretation, not a factual record about you. You can change the inputs and recompute at any time, which is the practical form correction takes here.

4. How we use information

  • Process, produce, and ship your order, and handle returns.
  • Send transactional email: confirmations, shipping notices, return updates.
  • Answer your questions when you contact us.
  • Send marketing email, only if you opted in, with an unsubscribe link in every message.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and chargebacks.
  • Understand aggregate site usage so we can improve the store.
  • Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.

5. We do not sell or share your information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not sell the personal information of anyone, including minors under 16.

6. Who we disclose to

We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do a job for us, under contracts that forbid them using it for their own purposes.

Recipient typeWhat they receivePurpose
Payment processor (Square)Payment and billing detailsCharge your card, process refunds, handle disputes
Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS)Name, shipping address, phoneDeliver your order
Email service providerEmail address, name, order detailsSend transactional and opted-in marketing email
Hosting and infrastructureIP address, request logsServe the site, block abuse
Analytics providerAggregated and pseudonymous usage dataMeasure site performance
Professional advisorsAs neededLegal, accounting, tax

We may also disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

Calculator inputs are not in that table on purpose. Your birth name and date of birth are not disclosed to any of those recipients.

7. Cookies and similar technology

Strictly necessary
Keep your cart intact and your session working. These cannot be turned off.
Functional
Remember preferences such as your saved reading. Local storage rather than cookies, in our case.
Analytics
Aggregate, privacy-respecting measurement of page views and site performance.

We do not run third-party advertising or retargeting pixels. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; strictly necessary ones being blocked will break the cart.

8. Email

Marketing email is opt-in. Every marketing message has a one-click unsubscribe and we honor it within 10 business days, as CAN-SPAM requires, usually immediately. Transactional email about an order you placed is not marketing and will still be sent.

9. How long we keep things

DataRetention
Order and transaction records7 years, for tax and accounting
Support correspondence3 years
Marketing list membershipUntil you unsubscribe, then suppression-list only
Calculator name and date of birth30 days in your browser, then auto-deleted. Never stored on our servers
Analytics data26 months, aggregated

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Payment card data goes directly to our PCI-compliant processor and never touches our systems. Access to order data is limited to people who need it. Keeping the most sensitive input, your date of birth, on your device instead of our servers is itself a security decision: data we never hold cannot be breached from us.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by applicable state law.

11. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted information through the calculator or checkout, email mo@numr8logy.com and we will delete it.

12. Your Privacy Choices

California residents have the following rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. We extend all of them to every US resident, because operating two standards is worse than operating one.

Right to know
Get the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
Right to delete
Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions such as completing a transaction or meeting a legal obligation.
Right to correct
Ask us to fix inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing
We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. The right stands regardless and we will honor a request.
Right to limit use of sensitive information
We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is necessary to provide what you asked for.
Right to non-discrimination
We will never deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality experience for exercising a privacy right.
Right to portability
Get a copy of your information in a portable, machine-readable format.

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have substantially similar rights, including the right to appeal a refused request. To appeal, reply to our decision email with the word Appeal and we will respond in writing within 45 days.

13. How to exercise your rights

  1. Email mo@numr8logy.com with the subject line Privacy Request, or use the contact form and pick Privacy as the topic.
  2. Tell us which right you are exercising and which email address or order numbers to look under.
  3. We confirm receipt within 10 business days.
  4. We verify you are who you say you are, usually by matching the email address on file or asking about a recent order. We ask for the minimum needed and we do not use verification data for anything else.
  5. We respond substantively within 45 days. If we need more time we will tell you why and take up to 45 more.

Authorized agents may submit a request on your behalf with written permission signed by you; we may still contact you to confirm. There is no charge for up to two requests per twelve months.

For calculator data specifically, you do not need to ask us. It is on your device. Use Clear my data on the calculator page and it is gone immediately, no verification, no waiting period.

14. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. Since we do not sell or share personal information, a GPC signal does not change our behavior, but it will never be ignored. Browsers send Do Not Track inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for responding, so we do not respond to it specifically. Our practice is the same either way.

15. Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least annually. The last updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes, especially any change to how calculator data is handled, will be announced on the site before taking effect.
